Katie + Christie // Monte Castello di Vibio & Tenuta di Canonica, Todi, Umbria, Italy Wedding

Blog_0455

“…you captured so many moments throughout the day – it really is a complete story of our wedding…”

Katie and Christie, where do I even start! Quite simply, their Italy wedding was full to the brim of prettiness.

I first met Katie and Christie when Katie was a bridesmaid at Laura and Andy’s wedding (click here to see a blog post of their wedding at Gaynes Park, UK). This time around, Laura was a bridesmaid, and it was so lovely to see her and Andy again.

Katie and Christie’s wedding was picture perfect. It started off in Tenuta di Canonica for the bridal preparations and I think you’ll agree that Katie looked absolutely glowing!! Tenuta di Canonica is an ancient watch tower located on top of a hill just outside of Todi, in the heart of Umbria. I arrived the day before the wedding and visited both the ceremony and reception locations – to say they took my breathe away is an understatement. It was absolutely the perfect setting for this elegant and chic wedding. I also had an absolute ball working alongside Boe (Botias Hair and Make Up) again – Boe was also the MUA at Laura and Andy’s wedding and I cannot recommend her work enough. Not only does she produce stunning hair and make up but she goes completely above and beyond to help, a complete gem.

On to the ceremony… Katie and her Dad arrived at Monte Castello di Vibio in a gorgeous Fiat 500. Monte Castello di Vibio is located around 20 minutes from Todi and is part of the Province of Perugia. This small medieval village is so, so beautiful. I had great fun hunting down some spots for photographs the day before the wedding! The ceremony was held in a church called Santi Filippo e Giacomo in a little square in the village with views overlooking the Umbrian countryside.

Post-ceremony, Katie and Christie enjoyed drinks with their guests before heading back to Tenuta di Canonica. I had great fun hanging out of my car window whilst capturing some shots of Katie and Christie driving back in the Fiat 500 (I will add that I wasn’t driving – important to stay safe folks!!).

The whole vibe of the reception was so chilled and lovely. Think guitar duo, drinks sat outside in the Umbrian sun, great food, great wine, a sweet table and a parrot that caught me by surprise a number of times saying ‘hello’.

Katie and Christie had a gorgeous meal with their guests and we snuck out a few times to take some lovely couple portraits for them to treasure forever. Katie’s brother, Steve, also surprised them with a game of All Star Mr & Mrs which was very funny and the good news is that they agreed on most things!

The evening do was started with a fab first dance and of course, limoncello (a MUST in Italy)!

I could probably write all day about Katie and Christie’s wedding and how gorgeous it was but I will now let the pictures speak for themselves.

Stunning couple, amazingly friendly and fun family and friends.

It was also an absolute pleasure to capture such a beautiful wedding on both digital and film cameras. I shot with my two Canon 5D Mark IIIs and my Contax 645.

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your day and all of my love & best wishes for your future together.

Charli xXx
