“A stunning chateau and a magical wedding”
Where do I even begin with Rachel and Mark’s wedding! Stunning doesn’t really even do it justice. It was more than that. Authentic, honest, epic.
I had met Rachel and Mark a couple of times before their wedding (at their pre-wedding consultation, and at their engagement shoot, which you can view here). Having had an engagement shoot with me already, they were completely relaxed in front of the camera on their wedding day which always helps with the storytelling that I aim to capture.
Rachel and Mark chose two beautiful venues. The first, the Monolithic Church of Saint-Jean of Aubeterre in Petit-Bersac, France; this church is underground and built into the rock. It’s very cool and very pretty! It felt like a complete fairytale watching Rachel walk down the aisle, which I am sure is a feeling also shared by all of her family and friends!! The second, is Château le Mas de Montet, which is around a 10 minute drive from the Church. I visited the Château the day before the wedding to scout out some good spots for photos and I can completely see why Rachel and Mark fell in love with it – how can you not!! The tree lined drive, the vast grounds, the picturesque château – just, wow.
Mark, my husband, also joined me (as he always does with destination weddings), to assist on the day and also to take a few moments to second shoot for me. We stayed in a lovely B&B, Chamber d’hotes Quartier Plaisance, which is owned and run by Julie and Ian. Julie and Ian were so accommodating during our two night stay and went above and beyond for both us and the wedding guests that were also staying at the B&B. I will be doing a separate blog post on the B&B very soon.
I just want to add a thank you to Sue (wedding planner) from Marry Me in France who was fantastic on the day and a pleasure to work with. Also to Pierre David (videographer) from Zen Film Works – their wedding films are amazing so if you are still looking for a videographer, go check them out!
Of course it goes really without saying but thank you to Rachel and Mark for allowing us to be a part of your special day. It’s such a privilege to capture true and real moments in life and I hope you will look back on these memories forever and always smile.
